$20.76 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience

Position Overview:
Heritage Bank currently has an exciting temporary assignment opportunity within our organization! We are looking for individuals who excel in providing outstanding customer service.
Our Downtown Seattle branch, in Seattle, Washington is seeking a temporary customer service associate / bank teller (June 2025 through September 2025) to deliver an exceptional customer service experience to new and existing customers, while providing in-office customer service, transaction processing and account maintenance in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
This is a Full-Time position; typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Flexibility is required to work as needed to ensure adequate staffing for training or employee absences.
As a temporary employee, you will be eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan with company match, accrue sick time, and will have access to the Employee Assistance Program.
The successful candidate:
- Performs routine paying / receiving duties.
- Minimizes risk by identifying potential fraudulent activities or transactions and escalates to management in a timely manner.
- Provides operational support, client relationship tracking, processes paperwork, and assembles and summarizes information, as requested and/or required. Gains an understanding of the workflow demands with proper use of internal technology.
- Assists branch with organizing operational workflows, balancing daily transactions, compliance, reporting, and completing all assignments in a timely manner.
- Gains a working knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Understands and complies with all policies, procedures, standards and guidance relevant to assigned job responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months recent customer service experience required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated math skills with an understanding of debit and credit relationships and negotiable instruments.
- Understands and complies with the Bank’s policies, procedures, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to gain working knowledge of bank products and services.
- Effective listening, verbal, written and telephone etiquette business communication skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
- Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information required.
- Proficient use and understanding of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), understanding and working knowledge of core processing/operating systems in a banking environment, i.e., DNA; with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
Working Environment/Conditions:
- Climate controlled office environment.
- Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule.
- May be exposed to potential risk and hazards associated with criminal activity (e.g., robbery and/or attempted robbery, fraud, security) - receives detailed instruction to minimize risk.
Physical Demands/Effort:
- Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner, facsimile, fine count cash and operate a cash counter which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and duration of shift.
- Ability to occasionally kneel, reach, bend, push, pull and carry.
- Occasional lifting to independently move or transport money and coin, 25-50 lbs., or files and/or boxes 5-10 lbs.
